Fairburn Southern Cremations & Funerals
This is the story of our shining star, Davon Makel Smith. He blessed our world when he was born on November 19, 1997 in East Point, GA. The first boy grandchild out of six and second grandchild out of twelve. He was uniquely born with six fingers on each hand. He was a curious, inquisitive and fast learning child. His bright smile and infectious laugh brightened every room he entered. He was created to be a natural born leader. His undeniable charisma and magnetic charm drew many people to him.
He attended Evoline C. West elementary school and Bear Creek Middle School where he excelled easily and effortlessly. He played football during his middle school years. He graduated from Creekside High School in Fairburn , GA in 2016. His strong will, determination and strength made him the first person in our immediate family to graduate college when he received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Savannah State University in 2020.
Davon loved playing video games like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto on his Xbox with friends and family. His interest included getting tattoos, listening to good music, playing and watching football, eating good food, doing yoga, meditating, learning about chakras, crystals and all things spiritual, traveling and vacationing with his family and hanging with the ones he loved. He had the most unique and fashionable dress style. He could put together clothes from the 70’s and now and make it his own.
He called his aunts beautiful queens. He was a hopeless romantic and dreamed of fathering a little girl that he could spoil and treat like a princess. He had the most amazing heart. He unselfishly gave to his family and friends because he understood that it was better to give than to receive. He was lovingly called “Bon Bon” by the people that knew and loved him. He was looked up to by his younger cousins because of his big personality and hilarious sense of humor. He was genuine, kind, adventurous, funny, animated, a jokester and a prankster.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Davon are his grandmother Yvonne Delores Smith who affectionately called him her “Big Guy”. Loved ones that will celebrate him until we meet again are his grandfather Cosby Tyrone Smith; aunts/mothers Chevonne Tyrisha Jones (Antonio), Tifannie Elissa Smith, Kimberly Nicole Kenyatta (N’Kenzi); uncle Cosby Shawn Smith; cousins/siblings Chaniece Tyuana Smith, Kiyanna Leche Smith, Amarius Shakel Jones, Jabrel Isaiah Jones, Kayla Breche Smith, Darius Tyrone Pruitt, Kai Yvonne Pruitt and Ian Jaxon Kenyatta; niece Malia Ja’lee Moody and nephew Khalil Shawn Smith.
