George Jack Morris Jr.

January 19, 1957 ~ February 18, 2022

On February 18, 2022, George Jack Morris Junior, age 65, died peacefully surrounded by his family. George Morris was born in San Antonio, Texas, to George Sr. and Mary Anne Morris. After graduating from high school, George joined the Navy and spent 20 years as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate before retiring. He continued to work as a Field Engineer with Siemens, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Clean Energy Fuels and was known for being a hard worker. His exceptional work ethic is just one of the many qualities he instilled in his children. George loved being outside whenever he wasn't working. Camping, fishing, tending to his lawn and garden and traveling the world were among his favorite pastimes. George was a NASCAR fanatic, especially #3 the Intimidator, and he used every opportunity to preach the gospel of racing to his children. He also enjoyed football, and despite his denials, he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He cherished spending time with his family, and even though they were scattered around the globe, he made every effort to get them all together for the holidays where there was always a "so there I was" tale to tell He'd make sure everyone in his home ate well, donning his renowned white Nike “dad” shoes and creating culinary marvels like his famous smoked turkey on his grill. George always made sure to connect with his children on a personal level making sure they always knew how proud of them he was. He would never end a conversation or let them leave without saying “I love you”. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed dearly. George is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Lidia Morris; sons Bobby, Josh, Tim, Georgie, and Ilya; daughter Krystal; grandchildren Gage, Colin, Ava, Marisa, Sofia, and Elianna. Saturday, February 26, 10:00 AM, a funeral will be held at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family would like to invite you to make a donation to The American Legion or a charity of your choice.
