  1. T o Cathy By Caryn Stofko Pigtails, and giggles, and swinging on the swings, Skate keys, and baby dolls, and all our Barbie things. Fragrant pink roses, and playing pretend, and tan lines from the sun, Sunny summer days, snowy winter nights, and hours and hours of fun. Finding worms, and digging ponds and climbing the old pear tree, Barefoot, clover, bee stings—we never felt so free. Yogi and BooBoo, “Eyes in the dark” walking to school in the fog, Christmases, birthdays, and Grandma’s house, and Buffy, our dog. Cook outs, and swimming pools, and old Apple Tree Inn, Why were we so anxious for our grown-up life to begin? Family movies, popcorn, peach ice cream on the lawn, Car rides, and records, and trying to stay awake ‘til dawn. Miniskirts, the Beatles, the Monkees, and more, Ironing hair, and curlers, and worrying about what we wore. Football games, school plays, and giggling about boys, Learning to drive, learning to cook, and giving up our toys. Husbands and babies and working for a living, Endless days and endless nights and giving, giving, giving. Dear sister so much of life was started out together, So many days and setbacks and hurts we would have to weather. Your work is done, you’ve given your best, now it’s your time to go, Be at peace for you were loved more than you will ever know!
