Sandra Jean Ramsey was born on October 24, 1949 to the late Daniel and Louise Howard in Gary, Indiana. She was the second child in a family of three siblings. Her sister, Trenell Whittington, proceeded her in death.
Sandra was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she accepted Christ at an early age. She graduated from Froebel High School in 1968. She married Ezell Ramsey Jr September 28th, 1968. To this union three children were born: Ezell III, Daniel and Raymon.
Sandra decided to devote herself to being a devoted and phenomenal wife and mother. She became a homemaker. She always prided herself on being the nucleus of the neighborhood. She was known as a mother and trusted confidant to many. She was a very vivacious woman whose pastime was music and playing cards. You could always find her playing music from her extensive collection and collecting elephants.
Sandra entered the workforce when her sons were of age. She was employed with the City of Gary for 25 years. She was loved and respected by those she worked with during that time. Sandra relocated to Lawrenceville, Georgia after retirement to be closer to her family.
Sandra Ramsey passed away quietly at her home on April 20, 2022. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her husband Ezell Ramsey Jr.; three sons, Ezell III (Nakia) of Smyrna, Ga, Daniel (Tameca) of Grayson, Ga, and Raymon (Rachel) of Lawrenceville,Ga; Four grandchildren; Ezell IV, Kiya, Jaida and Tyerra; brother Leroy Pickett Jr of Chicago,IL; brother in laws Howard Whittington of Indianapolis,IN and Bernard Ramsey of Ft. Wayne, IN; one sister in law SanBonita Ramsey-Griffin of Dallas,TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
