McDonough Southern Cremations & Funerals
Norman Davis was born on May 8th 1950 to Edna & Allen Davis in Kingston Jamaica, in addition to 5 siblings Richard, Pauline (aka Cherry), Danny, Norma and Shaun.
Norman was a lady’s man known for his good looks and charming personality. He always had a smile on his face. Some knew him as the “Love Child” for his DJ skills, and some known him as being a role model to others.
In 1975 on Valentine’s Day, he met the love of his life Norma. Norman and Norma knew they were destined for each other as they shared similar names. They got married on January 3rd 1981. Thereafter he fathered 2 children, Craig Davis and Tamika Grant. Craig has 3 children, Shamair, Imani and Talia. Tamika married to Phillip Grant has one child, Aden Grant.
Norman was family man who strived to provide for his family. After many years of service at the Post Office as a mail carrier he decided to retired. He then moved to America with his family and worked as construction contractor for many years with his cousins Junie and Mikey. Mikey and Norman were known as the jokesters of the crew while getting the job done.
Norman was strong man, who battled with sickness over the years but he fought with strength and grace to the very end. God called Norman home to join his mother, father and brother in heaven. Norman gave his heart to the Lord before he went into the hospital. He was a blessed man and always will be remember for the love he had for his family.
He will be greatly missed by many who loved him dearly.

To the family…. I wish you peace, strength and blessings in the days, weeks and months ahead! My sincere condolences! Norman will be greatly missed! Debbie🙏🏾
Mr. Norman aka Normy as we called him in Jamaica was always a bright light. He and my father would play dominoes every weekend while his daughter Tammy and I played all sorts of outdoor games. He was the first person I ever saw kill a goat for dinner, which he also shared with the community. He was always very chill and laid back…never in any fuss with a nobody. Now he is no longer in pain and live in the presence and joy of the Lord. May he RIP until we meet again. – Antoinette Foster
There are somethings you never forget. I remember when we all lived in New York, Norman and Norma would always have cook outs at home. Norman would stuff the fish and grill them. There was always more tham enough for everyone. I remember Norman always smiling. I saw Norman once since we all left New York and moved to different states. You never realize how short life is, until it is no more. To Norma, Craig, Tammy and the rest of the family there are no words that will express our sadness at your loss. We love you. Julian and Sharon.
Dearest Norma a Loving wife to Norman, Craig, Tammy Grand-children,Family and In-Laws Carlie and I have such fond memories of Norman truly a family. A kind-hearted man who loved to have friends around him and having barbeques and a great entertainer. He was also a Knicks Fan even with their losses he always watch their games because of him I started watching them too. There are so many treasured memories that we will forever hold in our hearts. No more pain. He is the arms of his Heavenly Father. Gone but not forgotten we will continue to pray for you all and comfort each other with Warm and Loving Memories.❤️🙏🌸
My memories of my uncle Norman is that he was always a very happy and pleasant man. I never seen him angry or upset about anything. Norman and my mother (Pauline) was close. When they were together I saw happiness and calm. My uncle to me was the happiest man I have ever known and loved everything and everyone. I haven’t spend much time with him as I would have liked to in my adult life, but when I was younger it was always a pleasure to see him(smiling). He was a great man, father, uncle, husband, and provider. To me the world has lost a good teacher for happiness. ♥️love you and I’m gonna miss you Uncle Norman ♥️😥😥😥
