Christopher McCool Reynolds

January 6, 1934 ~ April 29, 2022

Christopher McCool Reynolds, beloved father and grandfather, peacefully transitioned on April 29, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Asheville, NC on January 6, 1934, the only child of the late Ollie McCool and Albert Sautail Reynolds. He graduated from Palmer Memorial Institute, a preparatory school in Sedalia, NC, and went on to obtain his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. His teaching career began in Knoxville, TN at Knoxville College as Director of the Instructional Communication Center. In 1971 he and his family moved to Atlanta, GA after accepting the position of Director of Media Services at Spelman College where he remained for 15 years. He spent his last teaching years as Director of Media Services at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, retiring in 1998. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Scott Reynolds. Leaving to cherish his earthly presence are his daughters, Anita and Karen Reynolds, step-son, William ‘Bill’ Cox (Bridgette); 6 grandchildren Brienne Miller (John), Anisa and Tre Pennie, Tamera, Brittany and Nicholas Cox; 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins and friends.

  2. I was saddened to see Mr. Reynold’s obituary in a recent issue of my Bucknell alumni magazine. He was the director of the University’s Media Services department in the late 80’s and I worked there part time on work study. I remember him as very good man – he was fair, smart, and kind. I pray for his peaceful rest and comfort for all who loved him.
