Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Ms. Mary Catherine Hainsworth passed peacefully at her home on July 21, 2022. Ms. Hainsworth delivered meals to policemen and firemen on a regular basis and was a huge animal lover - especially her squirrel, Scarlett. Anything she could do to help someone she was very giving and compassionate. Ms. Hainsworth was preceded in death by her husband, William Hainsworth, and her parents J.C. & Jeanette Lindsey. Ms. Hainsworth is lovingly remembered by her sister, Carole Lindsey, and many dear friends.
Cathie loved our country and our military. She spent countless hours helping veterans in need. She and her partner, Ken, dedicated themselves to putting on military displays throughout the year. They shared a love of history, acquiring an impressive collection of uniforms and artifacts they loved to share with the public as well as present and former veterans.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Wounded Warriors or Blue Thanksgiving in Cobb county,

Carole, I’m so very sorry to hear of Cathie’s passing, but glad she is free of pain and is reunited with Bill and your mom and dad. I would like to share my favorite Cathie memory with you. I think you know about my affection for the MG cars but what you may not know is that when I was 8 or 9 years old an unbeknownst to my mother, Cathie took me for a ride around the block, when you guys lived in Mableton,in her 1959 MGA. I was so struck by that car at such a young age I told her that I would have one someday. I’ve owned many MG’s over the years and still do thanks to a ride around the block in that MGA. God bless you and comfort you. Doug Housley
