Jon Lamar Rowland Sr.

Jon Lamar Rowland, Sr. age 75, of Mableton, GA passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022. Mr. Rowland was born in Atlanta, GA to his parents, William Lamar Rowland, Sr., and Eleanor June Gamblin, He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving his Country and receiving an Honorable Discharge. He leaves to mourn his passing, Wife of 56 years; Elise Adams Rowland, one son, Jon Lamar (BUZZ) and daughter in law Regina Rowland, one daughter, Lori Catherine Rowland, a sister, Kay Nicholas and four wonderful grandchildren, Lexi, Hunter, Zoe, and Cole. A Memorial Service for Mr. Rowland will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the afternoon at Macland Baptist Church 3732 Macland Rd, Powder Springs, GA 30127, with Rev. Keith Collis, officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones, one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request memorials in honor of Mr. Rowland be made to The American Heart Association. https://www.heart.org

Jon was one of my most favorite persons to work for,he was also one of the smartest men I had opportunity to meet in our trade,he will be missed.My prayers are for the family in this time of grief, for comfort and strength, and to always remember the good times we shared with this fine gentleman. He shared a wealth of his knowledge with many of IBEW 613 Journeyman, and his legacy will live on and his kindness not be forgotten, thankful to have had the opportunity to call him a friend!!   6. Buzz and Family, So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. He was my third year apprenticeship teacher. He would stand at the chalk board explaining until we got it. Many nights, he’d leave class covered in chalk dust. He will be greatly missed.
