Patricia Dianne Densmore Gaylord

September 15, 1947 ~ August 30, 2022

Patricia Dianne Densmore Gaylord passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 7:35 pm, after a long and hard battle with Alzheimer’s. Pat is survived by her brother Gary Densmore (Peggy) and her three children, daughter Stephanie Adler, son Jay Gaylord (Laurin), and daughter Barbi Voyles (Jody). Pat will be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren: Daniell, Dillon, McKenzie, Grant, Mya, and Emmaline, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pat was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) Lewis Gaylord, sister Debra Densmore Jones, and parents Milton Reynolds Densmore and Thelma Elizabeth Densmore Petrie. Pat loved to read, listen to Garth Brooks, watch Steel Magnolias and John Wayne movies, play with her beloved Dachshund dog, and spend time with her husband. But her main love and goal in life was to be a mother, and then a grandmother. She enjoyed being Nanny more than anything; constantly doting on the six grandchildren. She took care of all the grandchildren during the day when they were babies until she was no longer able to. Pat was a bright light in a dim world, whose laugh was infectious, and her hugs could cure every hurt. She was a “mom” to many, and she will be missed greatly by all that knew her. There will be a visitation held for friends and family at Cheatham Hill Memorial/Southern Cremation & Funerals, 1861 Dallas Highway Marietta, Georgia 30064, on Thursday September 8, 2022, from 4:30-7:30 pm. There will be a private burial at the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.

  1. I will never forget your parents for as long as I live ! They were like parents to me 💕! I remember watching steel magnolias at your house a good bit growing up . I also remember when I was in that car accident with Corey and hit my head on the window…. Your mom came into your room and woke me every hour to make sure I knew my name and what year it was … etc . She was so amazing ! My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family . I love you guys . Michelle Hughes (Jaynes)

  2. I have so many wonderful and pleasant memories of my Aunt Pat as well as my Uncle Jim. Jim was only 2 yrs older than I am and we were more like brothers than uncle and nephew. My wife and I stood up for Pat and Jim when they married. I loved and cherished Aunt Pat from the first time I met her. She was a very special lady and will be deeply missed. She was younger than I am and I often kidded her about being my OLD aunt Pat. She struggled and fought a long battle with Alheimer’s and now the battle has been won. She is at peace at last and reunited with Jim , Debbie and all those that went before her. Fly high Aunt Pat and rest in peace until we meet again.
