Wayne Hardnett Sr.

Wayne Hardnett Sr. 73 of McDonough, GA passed away on September 8, 2022. Wayne Hardnett Sr. was born on June 29, 1949, in Shelby County, Alabama. He was the second child born to both Brown and Sarah Hardnett. Wayne worked for the Fayette County Board of Education for 29 years. He retired in 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Calreatha Hardnett, his three sisters: Doris Hardnett, Inez Hardnett and Helen Jackson, and his brother Brown Hardnett, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, and one daughter: Wayne Jr., Traci and Derek. Four grandchildren; Maya, Destine, Jamal and Zöe. One sister, Melissa Emerson; two brothers Kenneth Hardnett (Amy) and Christopher Hardnett (Bola). One Aunt, Doris Jackson from Chicago, IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Celebration of Life services will be held at the chapel of Southern Cremations & Funerals Fairburn on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 12:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
