  2. Our First Date
Joey took me camping, It was the most exciting, memorable time ever. We spent our days fishing, laughing and just enjoying each other’s company. Our last nite there as we were laying there i notice the top of the tent could be opened so I ask him if he would go out there and open it? His reply was its late and I’m already in my boxers I then say please Joey it would be so romantic, so off he goes to open it.well in the wee hrs of the nite it starts to pour down rain he runs back out there and as he’s closing the top I hear him saying… please Joey it will be so romantic, well I don’t feel very romantic soaking wet in my damn boxers…never again Cindy never again…I love you Joey, intill I’m with you again.

  3. My heart is filled with sadness with the passing of Joey. What a great friend Joey has been. I will forever remember Joeys laugh it was contagious. Joey was my friend and I will miss him. We truly lost a good man. Thank you Joey for the time we had. Until we meet again.

  4. So many memories. I love you Joey. See you again one day. You were the best friend I ever had…

  5. There was only 1 Joey Shelton. I have so many memories throughout my (let’s leave that number blank) + years knowing him. So many good times but one of the most recent was the Clap On Light. I went to take Joey some things and I needed to use his bathroom. I went in and closed the door. I realized there was no light switch. I yelled how do you turn the light on? Joey yelled back “Just clap” it will come on. So ……. I clapped and the light came on. A few minutes later I was leaving that bathroom and I clapped to turn the light off. Nothing happened. I clapped harder, nothing happened. Frustrated with this stupid light I geared up to CLAP HARD! Still the light stayed on. Now I am ready to fight with this light. I yanked the door open and started to yell at Joey about this stupid light and he is rolling with laughter. I am so confused at this point and Joey could hardly speak over his laughter but in between breathes he says “Jen, the switch is on the outside of the bathroom”. I looked back at the wall and started laughing with him. To me Joey will always remain in my heart with that laughter.

  6. I haven’t known Joey for very long.just a few years.but when I met him he was the most polite man.me and my friend Jackie brown were looking for somewhere to fish.and he happened to have a pond behind his house.it was on.she fushed and I went thru the carload of junk from our dive.joey was tickled pink by all the stuff I gave him from the dive.he had three hats on,two or three jackets and some kitchen stuff.i never saw a more happier man.hecwas so amazed that we got it from the dumpster dive.i have remained friends since.hecwill much remembered and with sincere affection.terri s ward

  7. Let me start by saying I’ve never butt heads with someone so much in my life. Mostly due to Joey pointing out things I was trying so hard to ignore. One thing absolutely no one could ignore though, is how happy he made my mom. She went from just going through the motions everyday to actually living again from what seems like the second they met. He showed her how to love again and he showed me how to have a backbone. And through all of our ups and downs we always ended up laughing about something. I’ll always value our conversations and I’ll forever cherish the silent ones where he always seemed to know what was wrong without me having to say anything at all. He was also a pretty good Pop-Pop. Tripp, or “tadpole”, as mom and Joey call him, still gets up on Joey and mom’s bed and looks out the window saying “Pop-Pop”? He taught my kids and me SO MUCH in just a short time. I’ve never had someone tell it like it is quite like Joey Shelton did. Thank you for all your honesty and always open ear. I’ll see you when I see you. And I’ll keep an eye on mom for you too.
    Love, Nik

  8. Q: What will you never forget about Billy?

A: Joey lived his life the way he chose to. He did life his way. He had a huge heart and wonderful sense of humor. He faced his final challenge with acceptance and bravery. He will be missed by many as he truly was one of a kind. ♥️

” It is what it is ”
” Ya gotta do what ya gotta do “

  9. Q: How would you describe Billy to someone who had never met them?

A: Could not have asked for a better friend. He did wonders with a roller and paiant brush. When we got in trouble….well we did it right, lol His mom punished and then my dad so we got it twice. But would not have wanted to do it with any body else. You will Sincerely missed, but always loved
