Steven Louis Terry

January 2, 1958 ~ November 2, 2022

Steven Louis Terry Was born on January 2, 1958 to the late Herman and Emma Terry in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Steven was called home to be with the Lord on the evening of November 2, 2022. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bobby Terry and Wallace Terry. Steven was educated in Philadelphia Public schools and graduated from Dickerson College in Carlisle Pennsylvania with a bachelor of Liberal arts degree in 1979. After graduation he moved to Washington DC where he worked at the DC public defenders office. Upon returning to Philadelphia two years later in 1981, he met his future wife, his love, Leslie Miller. Steven and Leslie married on June 14, 1986. There Union would last for 36 years until he went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2022. Upon returning to Philadelphia Steven began a career in law enforcement. Steven and Leslie relocated to Georgia in 1992 where Steven continued to work in law enforcement, first as a deputy sheriff in Fulton County, then as a Fulton County School resource officer and lastly as an investigator in the Dekalb County Solicitor General’s Office. Prior to retiring Steven obtain his real estate license and became a realtor during his retired years. Steven enjoyed traveling and cherished most of all, spending time with Joshua and Prince. His eyes just lit up and his heart would just melt every time Prince called “Papa”. Being “Papa” to Prince was one of the high lights of his life. And it only got better when little Shyloh was born three months ago. Steven loved children and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Leslie; God Daughter Dorothy Pinkston ( grandchildren, Prince & Shyloh) his sisters, Juanita Powell, and Lynda Terry; his nephews Edmond Powell and Michael Snead, Joshua Adams; his nieces, Tasha Powell and Rhonda Foxworth; his aunt Claudia DuBose; devoted best friends, Wayne Johnson, Gary Poe, and Ricky Hawkins; and a host of loving nieces and nephews-in-law, great nieces & nephews, cousins, and other relatives, and numerous loving life-long friends. Steven was not a man of many words, but he was an impactful quiet giant. He will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him.
