Cathy Jo Cook

Cathy Jo “CJ” Cook passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Cedarhurst of Canton Assisted Living Facility in Canton, GA. She was 67 years old. Cathy was born in Baton Rouge, LA on November 22, 1955, to Clarence “C.W.” and JoAnn Cook. She is preceded in death by her father, C.W. Cook and a sister, Nena Kay Cook Crabtree. She is survived by her mother, JoAnn Conerly Cook of Magnolia, MS, two children, Chris Davis (Hannah) of Acworth, April Kelley (Chris) of Canton, sisters Anna Evans (Phil) of Magnolia, MS, and Amy Caviness of Seal Beach, CA. She is also survived by grandchildren, Avery Nicole Kelley and Logan Grace Kelley. Cathy fought a valiant battle against ovarian cancer beginning in 2004. For anyone that knew Cathy knew she was a fighter through and through and was the definition of a tiger (LSU), defying the odds of survival year after year. Cathy was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family and friends dearly. She will be deeply missed by so many and remembered for many years to come. Family and friends are invited to a funeral mass at Transfiguration Catholic Church (1815 Blackwell Rd, Marietta, GA 30066) on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 1:30 PM. A reception will follow immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Cathy’s name, the link is at the bottom of the page. The family wishes to thank the staff of Cedarhurst of Canton for the loving care given to Cathy during her time there.
