Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Irene St. Lawrence passed away peacefully at 1:30am on December 12, 2022, and went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ at the age of 89. She was preceded by her parents, Henry Hesse & Mary Maurer Hesse and her brother James Hesse. With loving memories, she will be missed by her sister, Winifred Berkshire; her daughter, Carol Patterson; her son, Jeff Georges and his wife Suzette Georges; her son Alex St. Lawrence and his fiancé Annika Oblezov; her granddaughter, Ashley Georges; her grandson, Brandon Georges; and her great grandson, Dominic Georges.
She was born in Elmhurst, Illinois and after graduation she became a civil servant working at Great Lakes Naval Training Center and continued to become an investigator for the Internal Revenue Service. She transitioned to a hotel night auditor to give her more time to devote to her children.
Irene was an extremely strong woman that was willing to sacrifice everything for her family to ensure they had every opportunity for a wonderful life. As a single Mom, her strength shined bright for everyone to see as she loved and protected her family. Irene never met anyone that she didn’t like and always lit up the room as soon as she entered it.
Irene will be missed by her family and friends until they see her again.
John 16:22-“And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.”

I miss you so much Mom! I love you!
Prayers for the whole family!!
Mom was the light of my life and I’m so grateful to have shared her last years with her. We were all there for her in our own ways. I had the availability. I’m so grateful for her being there for us for all those years and as she got worse she would thank me for being there for her and I told her no thanks are necessary. You were always there for me. She would smile brightly. I told her the Lord was just using me as an instrument to show His love for her. Thank you mom for being there for all of us. You are sorely missed but we will see you again. I love you.
