Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
April Lynn Stansel, 46, of Powder Springs, died Sunday, December 18, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer.April always cared more about others than herself, and never found a cause lost or hopeless. April's family and friends meant everything to her and was always able to find time for those she loved. Although her body had been riddled by this terrible illness for these past several years she moved back home and reconnected with her parents while remaining close to her many friends.
Whether it was competing in sports in her younger days, baking with her nieces and nephew as a wonderful Aunt, or championing for her beloved Barnaby and foster dogs as she grew older, April gave all she had to her family, friends, and animals.
April was predeceased in life by her sister, Dina Stansel Wolfe, and is survived by her parents, Loy Stansel and Patricia Stansel, her sister Lori Stansel Lamb and brother-in-law Steven Lamb, as well as her brother-in-law Brad Wolfe, and her nieces Maggie Wolfe and Molly Wolfe, and nephew Connor Wolfe.
April will be missed and remembered for the joy she brought to her family and all her friends over the course of her lifetime.
The family will receive friends at Southern Cremations and Funerals located at 1861 Dallas Highway in Marietta, Georgia from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

We are thinking of you.
I met April when I was married to her cousin Mark (-Benny’s son) and she was always the sweetest most loving person I have ever met. She always commented when I would write about our Georgia Dawgs. I started sending her extra packages when I could without a name and at times she knew it was me. I’m gonna miss her.
Hugs and prayers to the Stansel family

Patricia, Loy and Lori, I am so sorry for your loss and also for not being able to come down there due to my medical condition. I am lifting all of you up in prayer for comfort and peace. Love y’all ♥️♥️♥️
The day she came over to see “her chicken legs”
Her name for my pops since we were 15!
April Stansel will remain in our hearts forever.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I can not imagine the pain and grief you must be experiencing. May God hold you in the palm of His hand. Keeping you close in heart and prayer.
Gosh, I don’t know where to start. April was such a beautiful soul. She shared her love for life and zest for living with all of us. She made sure everyone around her knew how much she loved and cared for them. She had a bright light within her and she shared wit all to see.
I will hold all of our memories close. Even in her darkest days she still shined bright. Even though the world is a darker place without her, I know she is shining down.
Thank you for teaching me that no matter what life is still beautiful. Thank you for reminding me that life is a precious gift and should be treated as such. Thank you for watching over us. Rest easy beautiful friend……until I see you again. Love you.
With heartfelt condolences,
Our senior year I wanted to go to the prom but couldn’t afford a dress. April let me borrow one.. a fabulous black and gold sequin gown.. when I tried to return it after prom she said, “ keep it because it brought her joy to see me wear it, and she wanted me to remember how much she loved me when I see it on my closet., By the way, I still have it… April was right… every time I see it I feel loved!!! I will miss you my friend/sister… see you when it’s my time to be in Paradise.
Our senior year April knew that I loved Clove cigarettes. She acquired me a pack of my favorite brand. ( it was the 90’s we could get stuff before we were legal age) when she gave them to me she yelled “ Smoke ‘‘em if you got ‘em Clovey. Till the day the good Lord called her home she called me Clovey
