Hunter Lowery

December 9, 1993 ~ December 21, 2022

Hunter Lowery, age 29, passed away at his home in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 21st, 2022. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Melanie Armstrong; his parents, Danene and Dwight Lowery; mother and father-in-law, Nancy and Ken Armstrong; sisters, Meghan Lowery and Kelly Lowery; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Dana Simmons; grandmothers, Betty Gaylord and Agnes Lowery; Aunts and Uncles, Lee Kittrell, Daniel and Laura Gaylord, and Deanna Gaylord, and many loving cousins. Hunter was born on December 9, 1993 in Greenville, NC. He attended North Carolina State University and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Biochemistry. During college he was a member of the Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity where he met some of his closest friends and where he first met Melanie. After graduation he moved to Atlanta, GA with his wife, Melanie, where he worked as a clinical trial project coordinator. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and attended games whenever he got the chance. If he wasn’t at the game, he could be found in front of a big screen, watching not only the Braves but any NC State game or the Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed golfing, reading, travelling, and playing video games. He and Melanie loved travelling and their favorite go tovacation spot was Flagler Beach, Florida. Hunter was always up for a good conversation especially if he could find a way to throw in a funny one liner or joke. His wit and humor always left those who remember him smiling and laughing. Hunter was an amazing and supportive friend and was loved by so many. He was so caring and always put the needs of those around him before his own. He was an amazing partner for 9 years to his Melanie and an incredible dad to his pets Skye and Marino. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Hunter was officially my son in law for only a short time but I can honestly say I am so thankful to have had Hunter as a son for the past 8+ years. He has been a big part of our family. I will always be thankful that he was willing to walk me down the aisle at Danas wedding! I always say I love Melanie and I love Hunter but I really loved Melanie & Hunter. They were true soulmates and so perfect together. Never a dull moment and you could just feel their love for one another. We were so blessed to have him be a part of our family and he will always be with us in our hearts. Hunter we miss you so much. Till we meet again…

  2. Hunter was always a joy to be around – and there are so many things that make me think of him. Whenever I checked the Braves schedule, I thought of asking Hunter and Melanie if we wanted to go to a game together. If my boyfriend and I were really into a new video game, we’d always look forward to chatting about it with Hunter. He was funny, caring, and really a light in an otherwise sometime dim world. We will all miss him very much.

  3. Hunter’s favorite song was Carolina in my Mind by James Taylor. His favorite number was 42 because of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. He enjoyed star gazing and he loved the beach. The beach was his favorite place, sometimes it felt like time would stop there. He was worried about what would happen to his pets, and if anyone would remember him a couple years down the line. He so badly wanted to eat a philly cheese steak from Philadelphia but he was grateful he prioritized traveling when he could. He always wanted to have a family and a house with a pool but he loved being at home in house in Georgia. He spoke so very high of his grandmother and was glad to spend some time with her. He really appreciated his nurse and his doctor. He had such a big heart. I’ll miss him, forever and always.

  4. Sending prayers and love to Danene, & Dwight, Kelly, Meghan, his family and Melanie. May he rest in eternal peace

  5. Hunter was my only nephew. His smile and how he lit up a room will forever be in my heart. A day does not go by that I do not think of him and look up in the heavens and say thank you for being in my life. I love you Hunter forever and always.
