Amara Sharazz

November 3, 1944 ~ December 20, 2022

Amara Sharazz passed away peacefully at 8:36am on December 20th,2022. Amara went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ.Born in Atlanta Georgia. Amara was a son to Margaret and Willie Turner. A brother to Glenn Turner Sr, Paul Turner Sr, and Renee Williams. Survived by his kids Amara Turner, Kai Conklin, Dara Cooper,and Kim Harris, an Uncle to Paul Turner Jr, Glenn Williams Jr, Deville Walker, Jared Johnson, Zoe Turner and Miles Turner. Amara was also deeply loved by Diane Turner-Sharazz, Adrian Anderson, and Mary Pat Conklin. Amara studied psychiatric social work at Clark Atlanta University, where he also earned his Masters in social work. He went on to do some great work in his community, helping countless youth reach their potential. Amara worked in several different locations including Atlanta, Milwaukee and New Orleans. Amara was an Armed forces Veteran, as well as a published author.Amara had a true passion for cooking. He loved it so much he would travel the world finding new recipes. Amara was a true magician in the kitchen. His most known dish was his famous “Sharazz Gumbo” in which his friends and family thoroughly enjoyed, and to say that is a bit of an understatement. Amara loved watching a wide range of sports. He spent most of his free time watching and analyzing American football and basketball. It would be difficult to say who his favourite teams were, as he was a bit of a bandwagon, and tended to go with the winning team at the time. Amara will be deeply missed by his friends and family. May his soul rest in peace.
