Paula Cecile Mitchell

September 11, 1951 ~ May 5, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paula Cecile Mitchell on May 5, 2023. Born on September 11, 1951 in Marietta, GA, Paula lived a vibrant and full life, touching the lives of countless friends and family members with her infectious warmth, laughter, and love. Paula is survived by her sons, Jake Mitchell and Adam Mitchell, daughters-in-law Windy Mitchell and Andrea Mitchell, her loving grandchildren Blaze (Preston), Gage, and Riley Mitchell, and her siblings Wayne Heard, Patti Page and Gina Durant. She now joins her beloved husband, Tony Mitchell and they will ride the roads in Heaven.A funeral service for Paula will be held on May 19, 2023 at 10 AM at Southern Cremations & Funerals on Dallas Highway in Marietta, GA, with a reception to follow at 1130 AM at the same location. Paula's life was a mixture of cherished memories and shared experiences. She had a love for Mexican food, sweet tea and butter fingers and enjoyed reading books such as "The Client" by John Grisham. Her favorite television show was Yellowstone, while her favorite movies included "The Lion King" and "Jerry Maguire." In October every year, she was a diehard fan of the Atlanta Braves. She also enjoyed playing board games and cards, shopping, and gardening in her spare time. Belk and Macy's were her favorite hot spots and her favorite vacation spot was Townsend, TN, particularly Cades Cove. After her husband died of cancer, Paula was an advocate for cancer research and support, but her true legacy lies in the warmth, loyalty, and wit she shared with everyone she encountered. She firmly believed in earning what you have and the importance of having more than enough to share with others. One of her proudest accomplishments was helping her husband buy a piece of land and build their dream home in Canton, a testament to her dedication and hard work. Paula's bubbly personality and endless love will be greatly missed by all who knew her, including her cat, Butter. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the incredible life she lived and the invaluable lessons she taught us all. Southern Cremations & Funerals, 1861 Dallas Hwy SW, Marietta, GA 30064, Phone: 770-919-7100, is honored to assist The Mitchell Family in their time of bereavement.

  2. Even though Paula was my second cousin, I felt like she was more an Aunt to me. She helped get me my current job, and encouraged me to date my now Husband. I owed so much to her, but mostly I just remember all the laughs and heart felt talks we had in the office. She was such a bright light, and it was evident to all how much she loved her family. They were everything to her! She will be missed.

  4. Paula was truly an Angel on earth. Although I only knew her for about 2 years, she became a great friend . She helped me through my darkest hours when my husband passed. I will never forget her cute little laugh and the hours we sat on her porch, just talking away. I will always think of her as the “porch” lady and smile.
