Craig “LeDon” Booker: An Admirable Blend of Sportsmanship, Love, and NostalgiaBorn on Friday, December 31st 1971, in Chicago, Illinois, Craig “Ledon” Booker, affectionately known as “Ghost” was the cherished son of the late Wiley and Pauline Booker. Ledon attended Provine High School (MS), where he grew to love basketball, this marked the inception of his lifelong love for sports. His fondness for basketball, in particular, went beyond the court; it taught him values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship, which he applied in all aspects of his life.In his free time, Ledon had a penchant for relishing in nostalgic television shows, often revisiting classics that harkened back to simpler times. His love for music was deep and varied, encompassing multiple genres from rap, jazz, blues to his favorite R & B. Friends and family would often find him rapping a tune or swaying rhythmically, a telltale sign of his innate musicality. He was a true “mama’s boy”. It was evident in his daily calls home to his mother. He didn’t miss a day calling home to his mom. He loved his mother with all of his heart.Ledon's professional life was as diverse as his character. He began his career as a mail clerk at Helen Curtis to his most recent job as a warehouse associate for Keuhne and Nagel, where he was well loved and was a very diligent employee.In 2003, Ledon and Tiffany decided to spend eternity together by making it official. Together they created a beautiful tapestry of love and companionship. As a devoted husband and father to Tiffany, Patricia, Tyree, and Parris, and a grandfather to his five grandchildren, Ledon was the pillar of his family. His love for them was evident in his every action, as he strove to provide them with not just material comforts but also emotional support and guidance. He always encouraged them to embrace their uniqueness and live life with courage and kindness. To his family, he was a tower of strength, a beacon of light, and a source of endless inspiration.In 2006, their union was blessed with the birth of their son, Pierre. His love for Pierre was evident in everything they accomplished together. He doted on his son, nurturing Pierre's creativity and encouraging him to see the world with open eyes and an open heart.His enduring legacy will be treasured and carried forward by his devoted wife of 19 years, Tiffany Altheimer-Booker. Their love story is reflected in the lives of one beloved daughter, Patricia Estes Silva (Carlos), their three sons: Tyree Sullivan, Parris Brown, and Pierre Booker, and sister Camilla Booker. His spirit continues to resonate with his mother, Pauline Booker, and brother, Jeffrey Booker.His memory will live on through his cherished grandchildren: Alyvia Silva, Aria Silva, Amayah Silva, TJ Sullivan, and Armani Sullivan, each embodying pieces of his legacy, reflecting his indomitable spirit.He leaves behind his father-in-law, Carlos Altheimer Sr., and his mother-in-law, LaVern Higgins. He also leaves behind his 2 sisters-in- law, Octavia Altheimer and April Altheimer, and his brother-in-law, Carlos Altheimer Jr. and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.Ledon will always be remembered as a man of unwavering devotion, infectious enthusiasm, and profound love for his family. His life, though it ended, continues to reverberate in the hearts of those he touched. His legacy will forever be a testament to a love for his family.
