Buford William Trawick

November 3, 1951 ~ July 12, 2023

Our beloved husband, son, father, and Papa, Buford William Trawick, of Fairburn, GA, left this world on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the age of 71, after an extended battle with COPD. He will be greatly missed and will always hold a huge piece of our hearts.Buford was born on November 3, 1951 to Woodrow Wilson and Frances Edna Thomas Trawick in Thomaston, GA. Buford graduated from Campbell High School in 1972. He worked as a Fork Lift Operator for Brown Transport and Carolina Freight before he went to work on the docks for ABF. He retired from ABF after 30 years. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union #728. Buford was baptized at an early age at Piney Grove Baptist Church, in Fairburn, GA, where he still maintained membership. After many years of friendship and 2 years of courtship, Buford finally married the love of his life, Cindy Powell, on June 2, 2007. Buford prided himself in spoiling his love to no end. He spent many nights on the dance floor dancing the night away with Cindy and a multitude of friends at good ol’ Southern Comfort. He loved himself an ice-cold Bud Light and country music. Buford loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing and all things to do with guns and knives. He loved traveling with Cindy to the mountains and the beach. Buford also loved watching old western shows and movies. But his most treasured times were the times spent with his family at family gatherings. He was a jokester and loved to poke fun at his loved ones, and then plead innocence by saying, “Who me? I would never…”. Buford lived and loved and partied hard and was deeply loved and cherished in return. His wife and children wanted for nothing that was within his grasp to provide. There was never a better husband, son, or father. And he was the BEST BUCKING PAPA that ever lived.Buford fought long and hard to be here for his wife and family. He endured 2 lung surgeries, 4 heart surgeries, and spent countless days in the hospital. He always exceeded the expectations of his medical team. Buford would say to us all, “Don’t waste time crying for me, it ain’t nothing but a thing.”Buford was predeceased by his father Woodrow Trawick; his mother and step-father Frances and Randy Johnson; grandparents Abner and Amanda Trawick and Wilbur and Margie Thomas; his Aunt Ophelia Bolden; and granddaughter Chasity Conner. Buford is survived by his loving and devoted wife Cindy Powell Trawick; his mother-in-law Nancy Powell; his Brother Marvin (Irena) Trawick; his sister Sylvia (Jimmie) Stevens; his brothers-in-law Terry Powell and Kelly Powell; his uncle Joe Bolden; his adoring children Christopher (Tiffany) Bowden, Richard (Allie) Jones, Amanda (Robbie) Partee, Tori (Mar’Kis) Leger, Tanya Tate, and Tina (Jamie) Howard; his grandchildren Brianna (Mahlon) Robinson, Aleah Logan, Kendra Bowden, Nathan Logan, Kimberley Choates, Ransome Jones, Rachael Jones, Riley Jones, Ryan Jones, Emmanuel (fiance’ Crystal Ramsey) Moore, China Campbell, Patrick “PJ” Campbell, Jr., Isabella Leger, Joshua Tate, Trey and Tristan Black, Rodney Sego, and Bryan Warner; his great-grandchildren Maylee Robinson, Michael Conner, and unborn twin boys Moore; his children from a previous marriage Lee (Emily) Trawick, Brandi (Shane) Wynn and their children Drew Trawick, Ryan Trawick, Dylan Wynn, Marissa Wynn, and Logan Wynn; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. If you would like to make donations in honor of Buford, please make donations to the COPD Foundation at www.copdfoundation.org/Ways-to-Give/Donate/Donate-Now.aspx
