George Carlton Wiley, 92, of Albany GA. Formerly Blakely, GA. Passed away November 13, 2016. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
There will be a visitation at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA. On Nov 15, 2016 from 6-8pm, and a graveside memorial and interment at Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, GA. On Nov 17, 2016 with Faron Hamner of Dawson Rd Church of Christ, will officiate.
Born in Blakely, GA on October 7, 1924 departed on November 13, 2016
A native of Blakely Georgia, Carlton married Virginia McDowell on October 14, 1944 in Arlington, Georgia. They have lived in Albany since 1953 where he was a member of the Dawson Road Church of Christ, and served as a Deacon.
Carlton worked for Early Furniture Company in Blakely, Georgia, and moved to Albany Georgia to begin work in 1953 with Sears Roebuck in the Appliance Service Department. In 1968 Carlton became the owner / operator of Wiley's Appliance Repair for 25 years.
Carlton was a devoted Husband and Father. He enjoyed the outdoors and taught his sons to fish and hunt. He also enjoyed raising and training bird dogs to hunt quail.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Earnest and Linnie A. Bush, his wife Francis Virginia McDowell Wiley, his sister Lois Wiley DuBose.
He is survived by two Sisters, Margaret Bowen of Dallas, GA and Martha Berry, and her husband Billy of Albany, GA. Two sons Jimmy Wiley of Atlanta, GA., and Ron Wiley and his wife Janice of Marietta, GA, his daughter Ann Nussbaum and her husband Howard of Centerville, GA., four grandchildren Bill "BJ" Sandefur Jr. and his wife Leann of Leesburg. Melissa Johnson and her husband Michael of Atlanta, Jason Wiley and his wife Fonda of Acworth, and Joni Patrick and her husband Josh of Franklin, TN. And his great grandchildren, Will, Lawson, And Trystan Sandefur, Ansley, Sunny, and Cleo Johnson, Jayce Wiley, and Lilly, Joy, and Sarah Patrick.
