Carolyn Mae Shelton

Carolyn Mae Shelton, 72 of Acworth passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at her residence following a heroic, four and a half year, battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Shelton was born May 7, 1942 in Handley, West Virginia to the late Carl Langley Miller, Sr. and Florence Menefield Miller. Carolyn was a gentle spirit who loved her children and raised them to be the proud individuals they are today. After the children moved away from home, she then worked outside the home for a major insurance company. She also became a gifted, self-employed seamstress. She was a member of the Butler Creek Congregation of Jehovah's Witness. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years; Allen Randolph Shelton, Jr. and a sister, Cynthia Barron. Survivors include her loving children: sons and daughters-in-law; DeVon A. and Celeste Shelton of Edison, NJ, Donald D. and Bonita Shelton of Acworth and Todd R. Shelton of Acworth, daughter and son-in-law; Renee Shelton Crutcher and her husband James of Lithia Springs, GA; grandchildren: Naia Shelton and Alia Shelton both of S. Orange, NJ, Eric Ayers of Acworth, Tyrell Shelton and his wife Clarissa of Ashville, NC, Todd Shelton, Jr. , Tashawn Shelton and Tanaya Shelton of Hickory, NC, Najee Armstrong of East Orange, NJ; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Carl L. Miller, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Orange, NJ and Claude Miller and his wife Sharon of Brandywine, MD, sister: Clarissa "Penny" Wagstaff and her husband Lem of Goldsboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and loving friends. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 12:00pm Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Lake Allatoona Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2515 Highway 92, Acworth, GA 30102. The family will also receive friends Saturday, December 20th following the Memorial Service.
