Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. The staff of Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill extends our condolences to the Walkosky family.

  2. Barney and I pray that George will always remember the loving and giving person you were. We were privileged to see that side of you at the many Atlanta Orchid Society meetings in the 90s and early 2000. We will always remember Julie’s generous spirit.

  3. My prayers are with Julie’s family at this time. Julie was a delightful orchid enthusiast and I have fond memories of her.

    Barbara

  4. I as well as many in the Atlanta Orchid Society knew Julie from the time she joined in the 1990’s. She worked tirelessly for the club in many capacities, including membership, the club auctions, finding sponsors to donate items at the time of the Mid America Orchid Conference in Decatur, Ga., and very graciously donated original art work to our auctions and for the front cover to the club membership book. She was able to grow, bloom, and have awarded orchid plants that were impossible for everyone else to even keep alive. Her talents and generous personality will be sincerely missed.

  5. I will miss you Julie, you were a kind spirit we all at the Atlanta Orchid Society will

always love and miss you, with all our hearts, I will not say goodbye to you,I will say to you until we meet again, Love you Julie. Terry Glover

  6. We Berkley classmates and we at Wayne State University remember Julie fondly and send our sincerest sympathy and best wishes.

  7. On behalf of Julie’s 1961 & 1962 classmates at Berkley High School, sincere condolences are extended.

  8. My heart is aching. A most special special lady that I was lucky enough to have shared those tumultuous teenage years. So many memories I cherish.

George I know you were an exceptional husband and I am so sorry for this terrible loss. I am thinking of you. mm

  9. I remember the beautiful Julie–a slender willow with flaxen hair and a ready ruby smile–as a friendly, open and artistically talented girl. As we progressed through high school, Julie was so pretty and popular that she could have been a “mean girl” but she decidedly was not, she was very nice to everyone.

Spinal cancer is a vicious affliction–my own brother died of it 43 years ago–and I’m so sorry she had to face it.

    My condolences to you.

  10. My prayers are with her family and friend.

  11. Mrs. Walkosky was my favorite art teacher and it was a privilege to have her twice as a teacher. She recognized untapped talent in people and could encourage and bring out hidden talents.

I had her for 7th and 9th grade Art at E J Lederle middle school in Southfield Mi. I know this is a great loss for her family and husband. Our deepest condolences go to them with great thoughts and prayers.

She made me feel special and encourage me to enter a scholastic art contest for high school students. Not believing in myself she believed in me more and I took first place. I still have the certificate and solid gold key.
