Claude Wesley Anderson, age 91, of Ballground, Georgia went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2016. Mr. Anderson leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Sarah Anderson, his son Richard Anderson of Ballground, Georgia, brother Anthony "Andy" Anderson, Kennesaw, Georgia, his granddaughters Kathleen Harris, Rachel Smith, and Angel Reynolds, many nieces and nephews, many great grandchildren, many cousins and inlaws. Mr. Claude Wesley Anderson is preceded in death by his son, David Anderson of Cartersville, Georgia.
Mr. Claude Anderson served during WWII in the Navy serving aboard the USS New York, USS Nitro, and the USS Mauna Loa as a Radioman 2nd Class.
At the end of WWII, Mr. Anderson reenlisted in the US Army Air Core. In
1947 at the separation of the Army and the Air Force, Mr. Anderson remained with the US Air Force serving until his retirement on the 31st, of July 1968. He was stationed on Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska with the strategic air command and Cape Romanzof, Alaska during the Cold War. Mr. Anderson then went to work for the Public Works Department, Naval Air Station Atlanta, until his retirement.
Mr. Claude Wesley Anderson's visitation will be at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Columbarium, March 17, 2016 from 5-8pm. Mr. Anderson's funeral service will be held at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Columbarium, March 18, 2016 at 1pm with his burial following at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
