Rosella Murrell Thurmond "Mamaw", 93 of Douglasville Georgia was born June 26, 1922, to her parents Guthrie and Maggie Turner. She returned to her Heavenly home on September 28, 2015, after a valiant battle with chronic illnesses. Her devotion to her family and her belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Rosella is survived by her daughter Sheryl L. Cox, grandson Alan "Buddy" Cox (Redonna Cox), and great granddaughter Hadassah Cox or as Memaw caller her, "dassah". Her brother, Robert "Buddy" Turner of West KY, and her younger sister Roberta Legin also from West KY. Preceding her in death, was her husband, Stewart N. Thurmond and baby sister Joan Lanier (Charles Lanier).
She is also survived by a Host of nieces and nephews.
