Mr. Virgil Southern

March 13, 1927 ~ June 15, 2017

Virgil Edgar Southern of Hiawassee Georgia, died on June 15, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Edith Southern and 5 Children.  His children are James Southern and his wife Cindy, Linda Ratzlaff, Johnny Southern, Ann Southern Smith & Ricky Southern.  Virgil has 10 grandchildren, a multitude of Great Grandchildren and even a few Great Great Grandchildren.  He is also survived by one brother, Larry Southern and his wife Peggy and one sister, Ann Rose and her husband Jack. There are many nieces and nephews, too many to name.  His legacy goes a long way. Virgil served in the Army for 2 years and worked for the City of Atlanta for more than 20 years until he retired.  He also held many other occupations during the years. He built his dream home on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee Ga. and this was always his haven, where his family enjoyed many hours.  He was always the happiest when he was at his home on the mountain.
