Brenda Nalesnik Hollis

Brenda McMillen Nalesnik Hollis, age 80,died Friday, August 12, 2016 at Signature Healthcare of Marietta, GA after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease and stroke. She was born in Rochester, PA, May 30, 1936, to William Brower McMillen and Anita Gwendolyn McMillen. She grew up in Beaver, PA graduating from Beaver High School. She worked for the Bell Telephone Company and later operated her own Arts and Crafts store. In the early 80's she relocated to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where she met and married John Searcy Hollis Jr. and they spent 19 happy years together, living first in New Smyrna Beach, FL, then Winter Park, FL, and most recently, Kennesaw, GA. Brenda is pre-deceased by her first husband, Joseph William Nalesnik and eldest son, Joseph William Nalesnik, Jr. She is survived by her husband, John Searcy Hollis, Jr., her children, Jeffrey Michael Nalesnik, Deborah Diane Nalesnik, and Jason Eric Nalesnik, all of Casselberry, FL; her sister Janice McMillen Begley (Jack) of Beaver, PA, and brother, William David McMillen (Dinah) of Hattiesburg, MS; her niece Jennifer Johnson (Brian); nephews Chris Begley and James Begley (Michelle); and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Boyd (Sandy) and Betsy Dickson (David). Brenda will be remembered for her bubbly, vibrant personality, her love of life and enjoyment of all kinds of group activities, from music, dancing and singing, to visiting Disney World with family and friends. A special event in her life was attending her 50th high school graduation in Beaver, PA and reconnecting with her many friends there. Brenda also will be remembered for her strong faith, her perseverance through trials, her ready smile and her trust in God. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, at Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church in Oveido, FL. A private interment ceremony will be held earlier that day at All Faiths Memorial Cemetery in Casselberry, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church, 3600 W State Rd 426, Oviedo, FL 32765.
