Terry Perryman

November 17, 1976 ~ July 20, 2023

PERRYMAN, Terry Patrick of Marietta, GA passed away in his sleep on July 20, 2023. On the preceding day, Terry was off from work, wore his trademark Hawaiian shirt, spent time with friends online, and said, “I love you, too” to his wife. He went to sleep happy and who could ask for more?Son of the late Patrica K. (Lineberger) Flynn and Joseph P. Flynn. He is survived by his wife of 14 years Katherine Crowley and their beloved son Conor. Brother to Brandy Gibson (Jason Gibson, Sr.), Tammy Perryman, and Kenny Perryman, all of North Carolina. Uncle to nieces and nephews in North Carolina and Rhode Island. While many of his friends became family, special mentions must be made for Rachel Knight, Judy Czech, Matthew Stone-Piersma, Patrick Farmer, and Roberto Leal. Everyone, including his family, co-workers, friends, and fans, meant so much to him.Terry was born November 17th, 1976 in Los Angeles County, CA and grew up in Gastonia, NC, where he completed high school. After a short stop in Ohio (where he never saw the grass), he moved to Oklahoma. In 2004 he met his wife and eventually moved to Addison, TX. Terry and Kate married in October 2008 in Trinity Hall Irish Pub in Dallas, TX and welcomed their son, Conor, in May of 2012. The family has called Marietta, GA home since 2016.Terry was legendary for his tireless to-a-fault work ethic. Be it hotel security in Tulsa, OK, corporate security in Dallas, TX, or running car washes in Georgia, he was always giving 120% or more. He was also known as Alps Sarsis to many online where he created diverse worlds through written and drawn art. After the debut of Zootopia in 2016, he began a beloved fanfic called Guardian Blue. He did his best through his life and art to bring hope to people. Stories have poured in from around the globe from people he has inspired, lives he saved, and overall making people feel heard and valued. His son, Conor, recently learned that Terry was supposed to be the best man at a friend’s wedding but declined as Conor was due around that time. (Both ended up being the same day!) After some thought, Conor made one of the most accurate and astute observations about his father: “He may not have been the best man at the wedding, but he was the best man for our world.”A gathering of friends will be held at the Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Columbarium from 10am to 1pm ET Saturday August 5, 2023. Southern Cremations & Funerals 1861 Dallas Highway SW, Marietta GA, 30064. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, we ask that an act of kindness be performed in his memory.
