Phillips, William McKinley, Jr. (Bill to most, but Mac to family) passed away peacefully at his home and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 25, 2023, at the age of 95 years old. He was born in Toccoa, GA on February 2, 1928.
Mac went to Letourneau Machinist School and then worked at Lockheed as a machinist and model builder for 22 years. Upon retirement, he opened Phillips Tool and Machine. He was a very gifted and talented man and could fix and build almost anything. He served in the Army and Air National Guard Air Force Reserve. Mac was a loving husband, dad, Papa, and Great Papa. His greatest joy was found in his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Madeline Hulett Phillips. He is survived by his daughters Connie (Jay) Christianson and Sharon (Brian) Guidry; his grandchildren Jayme Avrit, Dustin (Blair) Christianson, Kayce (Stephen) Magwood, Briana (Michael) McDaniel, Josh (Kayla) Guidry; his 12 great grandchildren (Garrett, Addy, Lannan, William, Connor, Larsyn, Oakley, Hunter, Colton, Maddox, Zachary and Tatum); and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on October 2 at 10:00-11:00 am at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at 11:00 am in the Chapel. Rev. Matt Petty of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church will be officiating.
