Doris May Rebecca Minott

Doris May Rebecca Minott, 92, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 1st 2023.She was laid to rest after a thanksgiving ceremony in Marietta, Georgia on August 19th 2023. Doris was born in Manchester, Jamaica to Iris Borland and Charles Parker. She migrated to New York, US in 1964 to pursue a nursing career. Doris worked as a nurse at Kings County Hospital where she enjoyed caring for her patients and retired in 1997 and moved to Georgia to be closer to her grandchildren. Doris was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. She was a self-taught seamstress who found joy in designing and creating her own clothes. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Doris is survived by her two sisters; Vivien and Jasmine, her five children; Witney, Mario, Franz, Andre, and Petra, daughters in law; Irma, Vivian, and Marlene, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many relatives, and friends. Rest in peace Mom, Grandma!
