Patricia Jane Henderson

November 20, 1943 ~ October 1, 2023

In Loving Memory of Patty Patty’s journey began in the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, where her spirit shone brightly even in her early years. At the age of 15, she was joyously reunited with her mother, younger sister, and brother, creating cherished memories that she lovingly shared with us all. Her heart found solace in the rhythm of hooves and the freedom of horseback riding. Patty became fluent with several instruments, including the violin, drums, and trumpet. Her passion for music was a gift she generously bestowed upon all fortunate enough to know her. Yet, it was in the rich tapestry of Native American history, dance, music, and arts and crafts that Patty discovered her true calling. For 15 remarkable years, she danced gracefully in Native American Pow Wows alongside her beloved husband, Bennie Henderson. Together, they embarked on an adventurous journey, traversing across states, forging new friendships, and embracing the fullness of life’s experiences. Patty was more than a mother; she was a beacon of warmth, a grandmother, and a great grandmother whose door was always open to those in need. Her home was a sanctuary of love, where a pot of soup simmered, and hearts found solace. Through her unwavering example, she taught us that we can blaze our own trail in life, guided by the divine presence always walking beside us. Patty instilled in us the strength to stand tall, protect the vulnerable, and seek the light within even the darkest of moments. We were blessed to have Patty grace our lives with her kindness, wisdom, and boundless love. As we bid farewell for now, we do so with gratitude for the privilege of knowing her. Though we mourn her loss, we are comforted by the belief that we shall meet again, in a place where love knows no boundaries and the light of her spirit shines eternally. Patty is survived by her three daughters, Beth (Greg) Hancock, Julie Thomas, Marguerite (Lawrence) Robins; Grandchildren, Patrick McGuire, Gina Hall, Lee Ward, Victoria (Tyler) Dilbeck, Benjamin Robins, Kathryn Robins; great-grandchildren, Chloe Horton, Mychael Hall, Angel Hall, Lane Hall, Vivian McGuire, Evelyn McGuire, Loralei Dilbeck, Baylor Dilbeck. Other family surviving Ms. Henderson are Terry (Mike) Griffeth, Shellie (Lance) Ayers, Caleb Ayers, Elizabeth Ayers, Drew Ayers, Leah Ayers, John Moore Jr., John Moore III, Stephen Moore, Kimberly Moore, and Mike Uchida. Services for Patty are being held on October 10, 2023 from 2 PM to 5 PM in the Chapel of Southern Cremations & Funerals in Marietta, Georgia.

  1. Love, Joe & Lisa Boecker, ID & Rochelle Jones says:

Rest in Peace Grandmom Patty. Look forward to seeing you again in our Heavenly Home. Love, Joe & Lisa Boecker, ID & Rochelle Jones

  2. I will always remember asking Nunie as a little girl to tell me stories of Grandma Patty when she was a little girl. Julie would tell me the stories over and over every time I would ask. I loved getting to know Grandma Patty’s history in that special way. I remember stories of Julie’s grandmother as well & both were such amazing stories of strength & overcoming. I’ll be forever grateful for the footprint she left. Rest in Peace to a beautiful soul!
