Marietta Southern Funerals & Cremations
AW Wiggins was born September 10, 1931, in Tennille, Georgia to parents, Winston and Mamie (Bell) Wiggins. He was the second child of five and the only male. AW Wiggins went by the name Buddy and worked at a young age on the farm. In his young adult years, he moved to Philadelphia, PA. And for just a short time, he went back to Tennille Georgia and married the late Naomi Smith, mother of his late child, LaVerne Wiggins.
AW spent his life in North Philadelphia where he worked as a manufacturer laborer. He worshipped and served as an usher and member of a North Philadelphia Church and was a Mason.
AW served as a diligent community team player by initiating and proactively sweeping and cleaning the block where he lived. The community was aware and appreciative of his good deeds.
In his Later years, AW fell sick and was cared for by his daughter who became ill herself and transitioned. In lieu of his daughter's care, his granddaughter and great grandchildren stepped in to bring him back home to Georgia.
His last 4 years were spent in Atlanta where he was able to rekindle his relationship with his sister Elizabeth and her children. There he lived with his former wife and grandchildren. He attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.
AW leaves behind 3 living sisters and a host of nieces and nephews. We will miss him.
