Nadia Reid

August 30, 1984 ~ October 25, 2023

Nadia Reid was born on August 30th, 1984, in Chicago, Illinois. She was called to her heavenly home on October 25, 2023. She was a remarkable God-fearing woman who believed in treating people how she wanted to be treated. Nadia was a very optimistic person who always saw the glass as half full, never empty. She was passionate about taking care of her family and others. She would not hesitate to lend a helping hand or give great advice. Nadia graduated from DeVry University, receiving her Bachelor’s in Medical Billing and Coding. She also graduated alongside her mother, Deborah Reid aka Debra, from Brown Mackie College with a certificate in Early Childhood Development. She taught at Kadazzle Daycare Center and Bright Mind Daycare Center. Nadia never missed a moment to uplift the people around her. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in those who loved her most. Those who loved her, but preceded before her were her Grandma Freda Reid; Grandfather Eddie Reid; and her father Sam Gordon Sr. Her legacy will continue to thrive in the lives of her mother Deborah Reid aka Debra; Sue Gordon aka Mama Sue; her sisters Taiteneisha Reid, Rasheena Reid and Latisha Lewis; her brothers Sam Gordon Jr., Christopher Gordon, and Jonathan Calhoun; and Lloyd Barnaby who was like a brother to her. She also leaves behind loving aunties Michelle Strickland, Deborah Jones, Camille Wright, and Brigedette Reid; loving uncles Larry Gillam and Brent Scoggins; cousins Kenya Bell, Natasha Bell, Arlene Strickland, Joseph Strickland, and Anthony Strickland. She inspired togetherness with her family and was truly an inspiration to all the lives she touched.Nadia was also our Amazon Queen!

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Momma Reid and Taitanesha, praying for you everyday. Nadias memory will live on through us everyday.

  2. Nothing but good memories with Nadia. Back in Kalamazoo, we always found something fun to do. Even a simple trip to the store was fun because she brought that energy. She loved kids and her mom was her everything. When they came to Kzoo in 2019 we went to Walmart and was in that store laughing back to back. About what, I can’t remember but that’s how it was to be around her and her mom. I will miss her tremendously, but I am grateful for the memories she left behind.

  3. IFS/Ryder - ADC College park says:

TaiTeneisha,Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in the loss of your Sister, Nadia. Your IFS/Ryder Family.

  4. To Ms. Debra Reid and Teneisha: May the strength you need come through our Heavenly Father. Proverbs 3:5-6
