Howard Dennis Koch

July 9, 1954 ~ November 20, 2023

Howard Dennis Koch (of Harlem, Georgia) passed away during the evening of November 20th, 2023 at his son’s house. He lost his fight with cancer after only discovering it 5 months earlier. He was a hard working man whose family and friends meant everything to him. He was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone that asked. Howard loved to fish and hunt when he wasn’t busy doing renovations, construction, and handyman work. He enjoyed people and was always quick to chat up anyone, stranger or not. Howard got to spend his last remaining months with his sons (Brandon and Jesse) as he battled cancer. He loved holding his newly born grandson Johnathan a.k.a. Monkey Butt and would show pictures to anyone that would look at them. There was never a more proud Pappy. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and mother Betty. He left behind memories with his siblings (David, Bobby, Barbara Anne, Susan, and Nancy), wife (Virginia), sons (Brandon and Jesse), grandsons (William, Owen, and Johnathan), and countless nephews and nieces.

  1. I don’t think there are any words that can express how much I miss my father. It’s been over 2 weeks since he passed and it still doesn’t feel real. I am going to miss how we used to give each other a hard time. I am going to miss the inappropriate jokes. I am going to miss the how he filled the hole that is now in all of our lives.

  2. Howard was my brother n law. He would and did do anything he could for others! He was a good guy who I’m really going on miss. Rest easy Howard. Keep em laughing up there 🌈.

  3. Ginnie May(Canington ) when he knew me says:

Howard was my friend and my neighbor. We had some good times together cutting up on the front porch . He worked with Mike many years and helped build his air conditioning company .He had a great sense of humor , loved life . I guess his message was never take things too seriously…RIP my friend you will be missed …
