Thomas Goforth

December 23, 1944 ~ January 8, 2024

Thomas E. Goforth entered the world on December 23rd, 1944, at Emory University Hospital to his parents, George D. Goforth and Ruth Lewis Goforth. On January 8th, 2024, at the age of 79, he departed this life in Fayetteville, Georgia. Thomas graduated from Campbell High School in Fairburn, Georgia, in 1962. On February 14th, 1964, he embarked on a lifelong journey with his beloved wife, Sara (Sally) Evans Goforth. Throughout his life, Thomas was a dedicated Deacon and Sunday school teacher, leaving a lasting impact on his community. Thomas entrusted his life to the graces of the almighty God in Jesus our savior. His passions included fishing, woodworking, tending to his tractor, cherishing moments with his dogs, finding joy in his home, and creating cherished memories during family gatherings. Thomas is preceded in death by his father, George D. Goforth, mother, Ruth L. Goforth, stepmom, Clara Goforth, brother, Danny Goforth, and sister, Sandra Goforth Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife, Sally Goforth, and leaves behind a legacy through his sons: Tony Goforth (wife Pam Goforth), David Goforth (wife Rebecca Goforth), and brother Doug Goforth (wife Mary Anne Goforth). His grandchildren, Nolan Sanders (fiancée Jacy McElreath), Miranda Sanders (significant other Nick Paulsel), Grant Goforth (wife Heather Goforth), and Luke Goforth, were a source of immense pride and joy for him. In addition to his immediate family, Thomas is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews, as well as his cherished companion, his dog Charlie. Though he has left this earthly realm, Thomas E. Goforth's spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved him.
