Fairburn Southern Funerals & Cremations
Charles Evans Lane's life was deeply rooted in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was born on October 10, 1955, to Charles E. Lane Sr. and Mary Nell Lane. Growing up, he attended Banks High School and successfully graduated in 1975, laying the foundation for his future.
In 1985, Charles found a life companion in Julia Lane, and they embarked on a journey of marital bliss. Their union became a significant chapter in Charles's life, marking the beginning of a family filled with love and warmth.
One of Charles's defining passions was his immense love for Alabama football. This shared enthusiasm likely created cherished memories and bonds with friends and family, as he cheered on his favorite team.
Tragically, Charles departed from this world on January 19, 2024, at the age of 68. In his passing, he is reunited with his parents, Mary Nell Lane and Charles E. Lane Sr., as well as his niece Angel McMullen and nephew Mason Miller. The reunion in heaven signifies a continuation of familial connections beyond the earthly realm.
Despite the sorrow of his departure, Charles leaves behind a legacy of love and kinship. He is survived by his devoted wife, Julia Lane, and their children: Sons Fabian Butts and Charles W. Lane, and Daughters Brittany Lane and Whitney Lane. The family tree extends further with the presence of grandchildren Alexis Bland, Joslyn Butts, Darlene Turner, and Annette Sanford.
Beyond his immediate family, Charles's love transcends generations, touching the lives of a host of nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. It is through these relationships that his spirit and influence will continue to resonate.
Charles Evans Lane's journey, marked by love, family, and a fervent passion for Alabama football, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
A memorial service will be held at Southern Cremations and Funerals in Fairburn on Friday 26th at 1pm. Please join us as we celebrate and remember the wonderful time shared with Charles.
