Rozine McSwain Carter

February 7, 1930 ~ February 17, 2024

Carter, Rozine McSwain (Rosie), 94, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024. Rosie was born on February 7, 1930, in Thomaston, Georgia to Harper and Martha McSwain. She was one of five children and grew up in Georgia. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jim. Rosie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a keen sense of humor, making everyone who met her happy and laugh, and was voted Wittiest at O'Keefe High School. She and her two sisters imitated The Andrews Sisters and sang at the USO Centers. She worked as a secretary, manager, and a temp when she won the employee award. Though fairly afraid of water, she saved a young girl from drowning in a pool. She taught herself to drive by going up and down the driveway. She got the "tooth fairy" to bring tiny cups she made of gum foil to delight her two daughters. She won a radio contest by entering a winning slogan for the station. As a retiree, she ventured into antiquing, and had her own booth. She loved people, art, flowers, animals, music, dancing, decorating, traveling and chocolate. She had boundless energy, and always ready to go anywhere. Rosie loved her family and friends dearly. Rosie is survived by her daughters, Nancy Netherland, Linda Harber (Brooks), her grandson, Jason Allgood, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
