Officer Roy Carl Herman Carlsen, Jr.

March 23, 1984 ~ May 17, 2024

The Life’s Legacy of Roy Carlsen Jr A time to be born, and a time to die: Roy Carlsen Jr entered the Circle of Life on March 23, 1984 to Margaret and Roy Carlsen, Sr ( both preceded him in death) of Brooklyn, New York. It is with sadness, that Roy transitioned from this life into Eternity during the early hours of May 17, 2024. A time to plant: The seed of faith was planted when Roy accepted Christ as Savior at an early age. Roy had Bibles located throughout his home. Roy enjoyed time alone but once he got to know you: you were considered a friend. Roy enjoyed taking cruises, skydiving and riding his motorcycle. Roy loved his two Fur babies: Kenya(dog) and Garfield(cat). A time to build: Roy graduated from Fort Hamilton High School and attended Kingbury Community College both in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. Roy’s heart to serve began in East Brunswick, New Jersey as a Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Officer Carlsen built upon his faith when he decided to move to Georgia to continue his career in Public Safety. He attended North Central Law Enforcement Academy with class 321 and graduated with class 335 in 2019. Roy desire to serve led him to grow with various departments of public safety: East Point Police Department, Clayton County Sheriff’s Department, Clayton County Fire/EMS Rescue and recently joined Woodbury’s Police Department. His achievements within these departments include graduating from the fire academy in 2008, gaining the certification of Sharpshooter from the city of Philadelphia in 2013, graduated from Correctional Officer Basic Training for the city of Philadelphia in 2013, graduating from the Dekalb County Police Academy in 2018, and being a part of the 2021 North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy graduating class #335. Thank you for your service! A time to weep, to laugh, to dance and to mourn: Roy leaves to cherish fond memories: His Siblings; Karla Carlsen of Rahway, New Jersey, Cheryl Carlsen-Pupo (Joseph Sr) of Old Bridge, New Jersey, 3 nephews: Joseph Jr and Vinny Pupo and Ethan Vargas and one niece: Gianna Pupo. One Aunt/ Godmother: Carol Crawford, two fur babies: Kenya and Garfield, and a host of friends, classmates and colleagues.

Rest peaceful, dearest Roy knowing you are missed immensely until that blessed day when we shall meet again.

  8. I didn’t know Roy very well, but he was always a kind gentle spirit. I know him bc we lived in the same neighborhood near Atlanta. I hope his precious fur kids Kenya & Garfield are being well taken care of. They deserve it!!

  9. I had no idea that you passed away. Roy was a great friend in elementary school who had invited me to his house a few times. I remembered him as a Mets fan and a great friend. I am shocked of his passing but will remember the fun times we had as kids. Thanks for the memories Roy.

    Your best friend

  10. I am in complete shock as I write this . I remember Roy Carlson from junior high school , we were in 6.7,8, grade together . I remember in 7th grade we were drawing pictures during class and he drew a funny picture of a rocker girl holding up a guitar . We were both cracking up while the whole class was looking at us . We laughed so hard everyone in the class started laughing including the teacher lol . We even went to fort Hamilton HS together and I remember him as a Mets and rangers fan and he always wanted to be a cop when he got older
