Diane Christine McGee

December 25, 1948 ~ August 23, 2024

On December 25, 1948, a beautiful baby girl named Diane Christine was born to the late Luther & Marie Dempsey of Miami, Florida. Born on Christmas Day, she was a special gift, indeed. She was revered as the apple of her father's eye. Diane grew up with her five sisters and they were often admired for their trend-setting style and exceptionally good looks. Diane was a very easy going, generous, and courageous child growing up. She was proud to be the big sister. During her academic years, Diane attended Mays High School. After high school, Diane worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Saulson Gardens Care Center. She was well-regarded as a dedicated and compassionate employee. She continued her work in service at the University of Miami, for many years to follow. In September of 1966, Diane met and later married the love of her life, Jessie Wade McGee and the couple began their life together. Their union produced four children, Tron, Sabrina, Reginald, and Sharonda. Diane thoroughly enjoyed being a mother, which made it easy to embrace her stepchildren, Willie Frank, Linda Williams, and Jessie McGee Jr. The couple moved to Atlanta, GA in 1988, in pursuit of a better life for their family. They ultimately made Stockbridge, GA, their * home. She worked as Rehab Tech at Tara Therapy and joined Floyd Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, most. Some of her favorite memories were created during family gatherings, dancing, traveling, and scrolling through Facebook. Diane had the sweetest personality and the most welcoming heart. She would always greet others with a big smile, a kind word, and a warm embrace. She was loved by many for her humble spirit and easy- going nature. Although she was quiet, she had an amazing sense of humor. She was hilarious, without trying to be funny. On August 23rd, 2024, Diane gained her wings after a long illness. Diane is preceded in death by her parents Luther & Marie Dempsey; Daughter Kimberly Norwood; Sisters Verdell Spivey and Paulette Flowers; and her in-laws Claudine Burrell-McGee, Emma Dewberry, Jessie Sr & Emma Lou McGee. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Jessie Wade McGee of 58 years, her children, Tron McGee, Sabrina McGee, Reginald (Andrea) McGee, Sharonda (Gary) Rahming. Her Sisters, Claudette (Charles) Hodge, Linda (Lee) Houston, and Julia Dempsey. Her Sister-in-laws. Her Grandchildren Reginald Jr., India (Darian), Eric, Chasity, Dusty Roland, Kyle, Jalen, Bryce, Kaden, Taliyah and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
