Dolores Gail Gang (née Rosenberg), born February 1, 1943, passed on Thursday, September 5th, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Atlanta after her battle with breast cancer. Dolores was born to Gershon and Rebecca, with siblings Howard and Jerry. May their memories be a blessing. Dolores was raised in Virginia Highland, attending Grady High School. She graduated from Georgia State University, earning a Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, and Advertising.
Dolores was a dedicated educator for over 40 years. She believed deeply in the potential of every child to succeed when given the right environment and opportunities. Her passion for child-centered learning and her belief in the importance of independence, creativity, and respect in the classroom inspired many. In 1974, after studying the Montessori method in Italy, she and her husband helped to cultivate a rich community of Montessori schools in Atlanta. Dolores touched the lives of her students and colleagues, and her unwavering commitment to education and the well-being of children will forever be remembered and cherished.
Dolores enjoyed laughter and had a terrific sense of humor. She was keenly interested in others’ lives and always a friend to strangers. She had a deep love for animals, especially her cats, Cassidy and Bella.
Dolores is survived by Sharon (Warren) Moliken, Warren (Franceska) Gang, and granddaughters Dylan and Jordan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to JF&CS, Atlanta (https://give.jfcsatl.org/give/497887/#!/donation/checkout), and Furkids (https://furkids.org/donate/), with the donation links below.
