Virginia Tucker

Virginia Knowles Tucker was born August 3, 1929, in Canton, Georgia to K.F. and Mamie Knowles. Her family, including her older brother, Albert, moved from Canton to Atlanta where she attended and graduated from Commercial High School in 1947. Virginia then became a dedicated member of the Bulldog Nation when she attended the University of Georgia where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting in 1951. It was there that she met her husband of 62 years, Charles S. Tucker, Jr. Together they raised a loving family. After her children were in school, she began working for Clayton County in the tag department where she later became the head of the department. After her retirement, she and Charlie moved from Forest Park to McDonough where she enjoyed working in her flower beds, reading, shopping, walking, and attending UGA football games.Virginia was a former member of First Baptist Church of Forest Park and a member of First Baptist Church of McDonough. She is survived by her 3 children: Richard Tucker and his wife, Pam, Robert Tucker and his wife, Kelley, and Rebecca Casey; 6 grandchildren: Cathy, Ginny, Charlie, Zack, Tad, and Erica; 11 great grandchildren: Georgia, Gracyn, Lillian, Lexie, Hannah, Nathan, Rob, Grace, Charlotte, Jack, and Shelby. A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, 231 Sam Sells Road, Doerun, Georgia 31744.
