Walter Allen Rodenberger, age 94, was born on 09-15-1930 and passed peacefully in his sleep on 10-04-2024. Walt was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Walt is survived by his wife Dolores (Dee) Rodenberger to whom he was married for 65 years. Walt is also survived by three sons; First born son Adam (spouse Robert), second born son Neil (spouse Karen), third born son Dan (spouse Kari). Walt has two grandchildren, Noah and Kathryn, and two great grandchildren, Austin and Owen.
Walt honorably served in the Navy as an aviation structural mechanic, Petty Officer Third Class. He later graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS in General Engineering following his father’s footsteps becoming an Engineer.
During his career Walt worked as an Engineer at Lockheed in Marietta GA, McDonald Douglas in St. Louis MO, & General Dynamics in Ft. Worth TX. Walt was able to utilize his engineering skills throughout his career towards aviation wing design and development. Many of his accomplishments made impacts in aviation around the world most notably his design of advanced components used in the C5A aircraft.
Walt also partnered with a small company that designed shoes to help people with mobility challenges therefore improving quality of life for many individuals.
Walt both founded and owned a land planning and Subdivision design firm, Rodenberger & Associates, which was responsible for designing many of the subdivisions throughout Cobb County during the 1980’s and 1990’s under his leadership. As a Civil Engineer Walt’s contributions to the development and growth of suburban areas of Cobb County Georgia were extensive.
Walt was an avid music lover and played the Guitar, Harmonica, Violin, and Fiddle.
Walt founded the EFTCenter.com in Marietta, GA where he assisted others in learning self healing techniques to overcoming fear, trauma, and pain.
Walt was very fond of nature walks and had a fond appreciation of wildlife. He was a quiet and peaceful man of honor who will be dearly missed by his family, peers, friends, and the Cobb County community.
