Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Carolyn Ann Stover, 85, of Marietta, Georgia, passed into the arms of Jesus on Sept. 30, 2018. She was born May 27, 1933 in Decatur, Alabama to Pervin and Lura Isley. She had one sister and three brothers.
Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Bill Stover, and loved him until his passing some years ago. She was Miss Austinville High in Decatur where she was the scrappy point guard of the basketball team and won other accolades. She was Valedictorian of her senior class but asked that the award be given to her friend as she did not like to give speeches.
Carolyn is survived by and deeply loved by her six children, Jerry Stover, Barry Stover (Barb), Donna Hyder (Gary), Rene Curlee (Scott), Lisa Stover, Rose Glass, and her eldest grandson Jerry (Jr) Stover. She has 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren!
Carolyn was a humble woman who spent her life loving and serving others. Her life was a living example of Philippians 2:3 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves."
A memorial service will be held at RiverStone Church, 2005 Stilesboro Rd., Kennesaw, GA 30152 on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2018 at 11:00 am.
