Mrs. Peggy Jean Phillips Anderson, 78, formerly of Marietta, passed away peace-fully on October 4, 2018 from complications related to Alzheimer’s Disease. She was adored by her daughters, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Peggy was born in Montezuma, Georgia on October 20, 1939 but spent most of her childhood in Alexandria, Louisiana. She married the love of her life, J.D. (Andy) Anderson in 1958. Peggy graduated from Broward College in Florida and worked for many years as a lab and X-ray technician at Plantation General Hospital and East Cobb Minor Emergency Center. After retirement, she and her husband owned Great Escapes Int’l Travel in Marietta. Peggy and Andy were fortunate to travel the world and enjoyed sharing their knowledge and experience with others. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed her Bible Study group. Those who knew Peggy well know that she loved watching sports and was a dedicated Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan.
Peggy is survived by her three daughters – Lisa Anderson of Marietta, Wendy Moseley (and husband, Mark) of Carrollton, and Deena Dreyfuss (and husband, Andy) of Winston-Salem, NC; six grandsons – Jordan Moseley (and wife, Taylor), Phillip Moseley (and wife, Kimbre), Will Moseley (and wife, Sydney), Sam Dreyfuss, and Adam Dreyfuss; and two great granddaughters, Norah and Marlee Moseley. She is also survived by numerous dear relatives and close friends including Mark Floyd & family, Lucy & Ivy Muchara, her cousins, nieces, and nephew. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 53 years, J.D. (Andy) Anderson, her parents, Frances Poole Phillips and Russell Jackson Phillips, and her siblings, Jack Phillips and Patricia Fremin.
A service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, November 4 at 3:00 p.m. in the Watkins Chapel at Mount Paran North Church of God, 1700 Allgood Road, Marietta. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s: Wendy Moseley’s West Georgia Walk on October 20, 2018 or Lisa Anderson’s Washington DC Walk on October 13, 2018.
