Cindy Margaret Nance passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024. She was survived by her beloved daughters Jessica Nance and Melonie Lagioia (Mease) and her grandchildren Domonic Nance, Antonio Nance, and Joseph James (JJ) Lagioia.
Cindy was born to Howard Nance and Marlene Nance Lake in Prince George’s County, Maryland at Laurel Hospital on April 14, 1962. She was the 3rd of four children. As a child she traveled the world. She lived in Japan and England, due to her father’s career.
Cindy attended Hammond high school and excelled at track and field. In 1980 she gave birth to her first daughter Jessica. In 1989 she gave birth to her second daughter Melonie. Later in life she helped to run a very successful tech company with her then husband, James Mease. She always enjoyed living life to the fullest, spending a lot of her down time in Pennsylvania. There she enjoyed camping, riding four wheelers and enjoying outdoor activities.
She also had a love for horses and riding motorcycles. She loved and cared for her family very much. She showed her love by cooking and doing for others. She was also in the food service industry for many years, which fit well with her passion for acts of service. In 2017, she moved to Georgia to be closer to her daughter Jessica where she finally found sobriety for many years.
She ended up working for the same organization, Mary Hall Freedom Village, where she found sobriety, helping others. She was able to spend quality time with her beloved grandchildren, Domonic and Antonio, and recently traveled back to Maryland to meet her newest grandson, JJ.Sadly though, alcoholism conquered her. She was a fighter but was no match for this terrible disease. Despite her trials, she will be remembered with love and light by those closest to her.
Thank you to everyone who supported and loved our mother along her journey. We are grateful for the time we had with her.

The staff of Southern Cremations and Funerals at Holly Hill wish to extend their deepest sympathies to the friends and family of Cynthia.
