En memoria amorosa de Jesús María Silva Hermida (1947-2024) Con profunda tristeza, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Jesús María Silva Hermida el 28 de noviembre de 2024, a la edad de 76 años. Jesús María falleció en paz, rodeado de sus seres queridos, dejando un legado de bondad, fuerza y amor incondicional. Nació el 6 de diciembre de 1947 en la ciudad de Garzón, en el departamento del Huila en Colombia. Jesús María fue el segundo de 15 hermanos. Con una mente brillante y una admirable curiosidad por el mundo, dedicó parte de su vida a explorarlo viajando por los mares, antes de construir una vida con su propia familia. Su pasión por la historia y su don para contar historias inspiró a muchos, dejando una huella indeleble en todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo. Jesús María fue un padre, esposo y amigo ejemplar. Le sobreviven su esposa, María Claudia Ortega; sus hijos, Óscar, Laura y María Alejandra; y sus hermanos: Beatriz, Mercedes, Gladis, Estela, Elena, Mariana, Humberto,Ramiro, Ismael, Gerardo, Libardo, Juan Carlos, Álvaro y Rodrigo. Su presencia trajo calidez, alegría y sabiduría a todos los que lo conocieron. Una celebración de la vida de Jesús María se llevará a cabo el jueves 6 de diciembre de 2024 a las 4:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Santo Tomás en la ciudad de Alpharetta. Su recuerdo vivirá en nuestros corazones para siempre. In Loving Memory of Jesús María Silva Hermida (1947-2024) With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Jesús María Silva Hermida on November 28, 2024, at the age of 76. Jesús María passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love. Born on December 6, 1947, in the city of Garzón, in the department of Huila in Colombia. Jesús María was the second of 15 siblings. With a brilliant mind and an admirable curiosity about the world, he devoted part of his life to exploring it by traveling the seas, before building a life with his own family. His passion for history and his gift for storytelling inspired many, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Jesús María was an exemplary father, husband, and friend. He is survived by his wife, María Claudia Ortega; his children, Óscar, Laura, and María Alejandra; and his siblings: Beatriz, Mercedes, Gladis, Estela, Elena, Mariana, Humberto, Ramiro, Ismael, Gerardo, Libardo, Juan Carlos, Álvaro, and Rodrigo. His presence brought warmth, joy, and wisdom to all who knew him. A celebration of Jesús María’s life will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2024, at 4:00 PM at St. Thomas Church in the city of Alpharetta. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
