Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
On October 29th, 2018, Christ called Ennis “Connie” Dewberry home. Born and raised in Georgia, Connie faithfully raised a family, served his community, and followed our Lord in the United Methodist Church. After graduating from Carrollton High School, he served in the United States Navy, Air Force, and Air National Guard for over 25 years and spent his retirement volunteering for Wellstar Health System.
And, while his devotion to his family and society never faltered, his devotion to another entity remained just as strong throughout his life: The University of Georgia Bulldogs. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden, building model trains, and laughing with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
While we all lament his passing with great sorrow, it is through the joy and hope in the resurrection of Christ that we are reminded that Connie now rests eternally with God, our Father. Few men lived with the love and character with which Connie walked, and even as he is welcomed home, we will always feel his love around us.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Wendy Dewberry, to whom he always remained devoted. He is survived by numerous relatives and loved ones, all of whom will miss his warm smile and loving nature.
The family will receive friends and guests in the Columbarium at Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel of Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill with Rev. Troy Hall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Egleston Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. Please direct all memorial gifts to Cardiac Services.
