  1. One of my fondest memory of my grandma was a time we visited them in Chicago. I couldn’t have been more than 3 or 4 years old. I wanted to go to park and get ice cream and my mother said I had to eat 3
more bites of this cream of corn nasty food. Eww! When my mother turned her head, Poof! My grandma took my plate and threw it away. With a wink and a smile. My grandma was the best. I love her and will see her in heaven.

  2. I have so many fond memories. I would love when she would say my nieces are so smart. They can take lemons and not only make lemonade. They can make lemon meringue pie and anything else. I Especially remember all of her encouraging words and you rest in love until we meet again love

  7. Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Lovell?

A: She never ceased to make me laugh. One day, I was telling her about the time James Brown [before he became famous] met Little Richard. I told her “Little was performing at a night club and when he went on break, James Brown got on stage and began performing the song Caldonia”. I continued by saying “Caldonia, Caldonia” and before I could say another word, she shouted, ” What Makes Yo’ Big Head So Hard!”

  8. To the many memorable times we shared with an angel on earth, our loving aunt, Lovell.

  9. My angle taught and cared for me thru the years .so many wonderful memories growing up with your guidance you will be missed your niece Ann Gowder

  10. I count it a blessing to have been able to move down south and enjoy the last year simply sitting and talking with aunty! My favorite memory is realizing how amazing of a matchmaker she was! The story of how Granddaddy (Uncle Jimmy) came to be with my Grandmother (Alice) is truly funny! Without her intervention and skillful planning 😅 I don’t know if the lineage would be what it is today!..She was an incredible woman with stories that will forever last in our heart!🩷

  11. Dear Lavonne, I’m praying that God gives you peace and comfort during these difficult days. I remember your Mom as being a very sweet, mild mannered person. I never remember hearing your Mom ever raising her voice. It’s hard, I know because I’ve walked in your shoes. No one can replace a mother’s love. Stay strong my friend. God’s got you.

  12. Aunt Lovell, the wisdom, love and grace you displayed will be missed. You were my mother’s younger sister. When she left me, you stepped right in. The pride you had for your family is what you were known for. Your ability to make anyone feel heard and loved always brought me comfort. The praying women your mother was, passed down to you. Seeing the level of faith you maintained encourages me. Thank you, for never ceasing to praise God. For every phone call, every prayer, every hug and kiss. You’ve been ready to go Home, for a longtime now. I am happy, you have gained your reward. Yvonne Holliday

  15. My name is Courtnae IAm The daughter of Ella Harris. I have been talking with my aunt for a while over the past few years. She was a beautiful woman. She’d tell me about her life funny stories. She’d tell me about her dad if you do good good will come to you which is true Rest in peace Auntie

  16. I can recall when I was taking care of my grandfather James Jamison Sr. And my great aunt came to visit him. She look him in the eyes. It was priceless they both smile at each other. She gave him a shave . The most beautiful thing I have ever seen. She will truly be miss
