Natasha was such a kind, funny, intelligent and caring woman. She was so supportive of me and my transition to Thomas University and working as part of their TRiO Support Team. Natasha was such a calming voice towards any concerns, doubts or personal struggle. I’ll always cherish the care and kindness that she extended towards me. My condolences to her family and friends, she will most certainly be missed.
Natasha and I met in July 2002. I advised her for college classes and she was also in my Student Success class. At every turn, Tasha challenged me in class. I loved it. I later asked if she would consider working as a tutor. She agreed and the rest, as they say, is history. She and I became joined at the hip. Where you saw me, you saw Tasha. I struggled to pinpoint the moment when I knew I’d always keep her in my life. She was my touchstone. I know I cannot bring her back and can only carry her in my heart, and that fact hurts so much. I selfishly want her back so I can make her deviled eggs and take her to a casino. It has been 16 days since she left and they have been the hardest of my life. She loved her family so much. When I officially met them at her memorial, I felt like I had known them for decades from all of the stories she told me about them. I love them, too, and hope to keep in touch with them so I can still feel close to her.
