Virginia Louise Sams

November 10, 1943 ~ November 20, 2018

Virginia “Ginger” Louise Sams, 75, of Canton, GA passed away November 20, 2018. She was born in Mobile, AL. Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Earline Walker, her sister, Patricia Ann Walker, and brother, David Walker. She was an avid antique collector and the co-owner of a Toy museum. She also was a co-owner in a Swimming pool/Tanning bed company. Ginger loved the simple, southern life. She loved to cook for her family and piddle around the house. She would work many hours tending her garden to make the most amazing bread and butter pickles and strawberry fig jelly. Outdoors was where you would find her seeking a beautiful sunset. On summer nights, you could find her taking a swim after cooking a hot meal or watching the fireflies. Ginger was a very sweet, compassionate woman who gave anyone who needed help, her care and love. She adored her family. She is survived by her children, Larry Tyler (Ty) Parker, Jr. (Diane), of Big Canoe, GA, Dina L. Parker, of Canton, GA, and Stacy L. Parker (Rodney) of Tega Cay, SC. Her siblings, Barbara (Boo) Patterson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Robert (Bobby) Walker, Jr. of Cumming, GA and Teresa (Terry) Walker of Doraville, GA. Her grandsons, Jacob Parker of Boulder, CO and Wesley Parker of Dahlonega, GA. Ginger had two loves of her life, Larry Tyler Parker Sr. and Michael Sams. She also had an extensive family including many nieces, nephews, first cousins (23), second cousins, in-laws (twice removed!) and many dear friends and neighbors. She loved them all. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill Columbarium, 1861 Dallas Highway SW, Marietta, GA 30064.
